{Review} Origin - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Lux #4
Genre: YA Paranormal
Release Date: Aug 27 / 2013
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?

- my review of Obsidian (Lux #1)Onyx (Lux #2), and Opal (Lux #3)
*spoilers for previous books are in the review*

I feel like this series went from hella good (Obsidian), and then to like okay (Onyx and Opal). Origin was another so-so for me.

At the end of Opal, Katy was capture and then there was the heart wrenching cliffhanger. Origin picks up right where Opal had left off. In this book, we get both Katy and Daemon's point of views because of their seperation. Much of the book was about running away from DOD. At the end, there was a stunning revelation and we are left pondering on what Opposition would be about.

Katy has grown a lot in this novel. She has learned to take care of herself in situations and doesn't need Daemon to save the day. With Daemon, they went through a lot together and that has strengthened their relationship a lot more than before.

The title of this novel does hold its meaning. Bizarre things were introduced that I didn't think was possible. I really liked the new things that's added to the book. It adds another layer to the book and I think it's nicely done.

Overall, Origin is a nice addition to the Lux series. The plot advanced even more and I think Opposition will have even better scenes than Origin. I absolutely can't wait for Opposition!
