{Review} Perception by Lee Strauss

Perception by Lee Strauss

Release Date: 09/12/2012
Publisher: ESB Publishing
Purchase: (Amazon) (Smashwords)

Seventeen year old Zoe Vanderveen is a GAP—a genetically altered person. She lives in the security of a walled city on prime water-front property along-side other equally beautiful people with extended life spans.

Her brother Liam is missing.
Noah Brody is a natural who lives on the outside. He leads protests against the GAPs and detests the widening chasm they’ve created between those who have and those who don’t. He doesn’t like girls like Zoe and he has good reason not to like her specifically.
Zoe’s carefree life takes a traumatic turn. She’s in trouble and it turns out that Noah, the last guy on earth she should trust, is the only one who can help her.
PERCEPTION is a ( SF/mystery/romance) Young Adult novel that takes place in the not-too-distant future in a world changed by climate extremes, natural disasters and impending wars, and where scientific breakthroughs cause class divisions—both financially and philosophically. It explores the clash between faith and science and how differences can separate us as enemies or ally us together. And in some cases, even in the midst of betrayal and personal crisis, there’s room to fall in love.
This is the first book in a planned three book series.

Thanks!

This book did not fail me! I really enjoyed this. I especially liked the relationship between Zoe and Noah. It was very cute!

So seventeen-year-old  Zoe Vanderveen is a GAP (genetically altered person). She lives in a beautiful walled city with other people like her, people who also have extended life spans. Her brother Liam hasn't been as close to her as before. And one day, he doesn't come home. He is missing.

Noah Brody is a natural (people who are not GAPs) who lives outside the beautiful walled city. He detests GAPs and leads protests against them. He hates how everyone is not equal and how some people (*ahem* GAPs) have extended life spans and others don't.

Zoe had to turn to Noah for help when she decides to find her brother. Well, it was quite a bumpy road there :)

What I really loved about this was their love. I liked how Noah didn't give up even after that happened (can't tell you what). He kept going, earning Zoe's love, and didn't stop just because obstacles came in his way.

Zoe is a very fierce, stubborn heroine. She is very energetic and knew what she wanted. She is very determined about her goals, and I liked that. Zoe, I find, is a good role model (in several ways).

I really loved this book and I can't wait to hear news of the second book! I will definitely read the second, too. *serious face* I just want to say, Thanks again to Ms. Strauss for the e-ARC!!!
